I posted Darren and Dora on Rescue Me. They were from a litter of five puppies that were abandoned on the Island of Aruba at the tender age of four weeks old. A wonderful group of people worked to foster them in Aruba, volunteered to transport them to the States, foster them here and locate homes for them. Dora and Samantha were adopted. We still have Darren, Tabitha, and Serena, who all need homes. They are now 11 weeks old. Up to date on all vaccinations and ready for adoption. Rescue Me has been a tremendous help in locating good forever homes. Still need more help! Thank you!

Thanks, Rescue Me. I pulled Starr from a high kill shelter. She was in with her baby. I knew it would be hard to place them together, but that was my goal and after some time, I met a wonderful lady who wanted to adopt both mother and daughter!

My wife and I already had three dogs. But our flat-coated retriever mix is such a wonderful dog that we had been thinking about finding another dog of her breed and temperament. We found Daisy at the Rowlette Animal Shelter through their Rescue Me post. Amazingly, the shelter had her posted as an adult from three to five years old. She is continuing to grow bigger in the few weeks that we've had her. LOL! Daisy is a wonderful dog. I encourage those unfamiliar with this breed to learn more about them and possibly adopt one for yourself. They are sweet, kind, gentle, playful, loyal, and intelligent, etc. -The perfect family pet!

Dakota was in a shelter from the time he was only eight weeks old. When he was nine months, I saw him and had to pull him so he wouldn't be euthanized. He is the sweetest, most loving boy who loves everyone and everything! After having Dakota with me for only two weeks he met the nicest couple who fell in love with him and adopted him. Thanks to Rescue Me, Dakota finally has the life he deserves. If it wasn't for this awesome site this may of never happened. I am so thankful and appreciative of Jeff Gold for having this site available so these wonderful, sweet, deserving animals can find wonderful forever homes they deserve!!!!

I rescued D.O.G. from the side of the road, and even though I was allergic, I figured a home with me until I helped him find his forever home would be best. I found Rescue Me! and received overwhelming responses to the dog. I was very pleased with the efforts some individuals were going through to help this guy find a lovely home. A lovely girl had come over to the house to meet the dog. The girl fell instantly in love with him, and decided right then and there to take him home. I am happy that he found his forever home and that the girl's personality was similar to the dog. Lovely, bouncy, and happy to be with one another. She keeps me updated on the dog and I couldn't be any happier. This site helped all three of us have a happy ending!

Miss Lola was soon to be put down. We drove to Los Angeles to meet her and all the shelter people told us she was a biter and not adoptable. She had serious ear infections in both ears, and flies were buzzing around her head. She looked miserable. She wagged her tail a bit. We could see there was a sweet girl in there somewhere, but we have small grandchildren, and the news that she was a biter greatly discouraged us. Plus, the severe ear problem was more than I was comfortable dealing with, if she was a biter. I let Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America (FCRSA) know that she looked like she could be a sweet girl and she needed someone who could take on her and her issues. Well, the next week FCRSA let me know she had been at a vet for a week, but they could not find a home for her. The vet staff had no problem with her biting. I drove down to get her. I asked the staff how she was, and they said she was sweet, no biting. We met. I brought her home, and she is delightful! We are working on her not chasing our two cats, and she gets better every day with her self-restraint. She has a wonderful personality, and is very funny! Thank you, Rescue Me!

I was referred to Rescue Me! by a friend of mine who also does rescue, and I must say it truly is amazing! We have had four of our rescues leave us because their furever family found them on here! We tried multiple other sites and ways to get these babies adopted, and nothing compares to this site!      We were able to find a very nice couple who accepted Shadow. She is getting adjusted nicely and her former owner, a friend of mine, is happy with the arrangement.

Carol found her forever home with the aid of Rescue Me. Within 4 hours of posting her, she had an application. Her adopters drove 6 hours to meet her and adopted her on the spot. After only one day in her new home, we have received an update. Carol is doing wonderful with her new dad and mom and has stolen their hearts. Thanks again Jeff for giving Carol the opportunity to have a forever home.

I am a volunteer with Labrador Retriever Rescue Of Florida and one of our partner vets called me saying they had a badly abused Flat Coated Retriever in need of a home. Although he wasn't a Lab we said yes because the vet has been so generous to our organization. The problem was that not being a lab, people searching for a Lab weren't interested. Then during a very chaotic afternoon at my house he nipped at my son so I was told to return him to the vet. I COULD NOT do that nor could I keep him because I want to continue to foster Labs and I can only have two dogs and I have my own Lab. I finally found Rescue Me and submitted his story. The next day I received a reply from a lady who is now his mom. It was a perfect match. I received responses from all over the country. Aymen was so badly abused that you wouldn't think he could ever trust a human being again. I have fostered over twenty dogs and he is the best behaved, sweetest dog I have ever encountered (including my own). I am going to miss him terribly but know he is happy with his new family. How bittersweet. 'Rescue Me' should receive a Nobel Prize.

I had a lot of inquiries from this post and finally found a family for both of the dogs in Washington DC. They did not care that they were not PB or have a problem with the fee. They just wanted to give them a family of their own. Good luck and thank you Ruth and husband!

Jeff, I am grateful for your site as a way to let people know about wonderful animals. I volunteer weekly at our shelter. Flat coats have a following of admiring people. So I really wanted to spread the word that this great dog was in the shelter. I would like to post more dogs in the future. I plan to post a mix breed today that has been at the shelter too long. The staff loves him. He is a great dog, cute looks and has been overlooked by the public. Many thanks and warm wishes for your new year. Lee Schwall

Jeff, We adopted our new dog, 'Lucky,' from a family who, with a heavy heart, had to find a new home for him. I exchanged emails with the owner to learn more about Lucky and decide if he could be the right dog for my husband and me. We lost our wonderful dog last year at age 15 and he was a flat-coated retriever mix, too. Three weeks ago we traveled about an hour to meet Lucky with the hopes of taking him home with us. It was love at first sight and there were a few tears shed as we drove away with him. Lucky is adapting well, with the exception of a few minor trials and tribulations, but we're quickly becoming a family as we get to know each other better. We continue to correspond with Lucky's former family with updates and pictures. They are delighted to hear how he is doing and it has helped comfort them and put their minds at ease. It was just by chance that I happened upon your website and what a blessing it turned out to be! Sandy

Hello Jeff! Hip hip hooray! One of my best friends is animal control officer and he found THE BEST home for Madison. Twenty acres, a happy family of children, and from what I hear, a great family. So......once again hip hip hooray! Thank you very much, ... I will definitely recommend and use your site in the future.
