She has a laid back and easy going disposition but not lazy, she just likes to hang with you. She obviously has natural retriever abilities and likes to carry things around in her mouth and move them from place to place, its so cute! Taelor gets along with others, is good on a leash and rides well in the car! This beautiful and smart young lady will not be with us long so if you see in her what we do, you better hurry up and submit your application today!

This dog is currently at Charlotte Animal Control and was turned in yesterday as an owner surrender. I have tried contacting several rescue companies and every one is full or there are no fosters available. She is on a 72 hour hold (she's already 24+ hrs in to this hold) at Animal Control. Please let me know if any one is able to adopt or foster her or can help in any way! I would take her myself but I have a rescue already and I can't let this girl go for some reason!

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-25-00612Diddy (male)

Flat-Coated Retriever Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

DIDDY HAS LOST HOPE THAT HE WILL EVER FIND HAPPINESS! He had rescue commitment back in the fall, but they are still unable to take him. Diddy has now waited a full year since first coming into the shelter. A full year has gone by without a family, a full year waiting to be chosen, a full year waiting to hear that he is loved.... waiting.... waiting.... waiting for his chance. Diddy is heartbroken. He desperately needs out of his pen and into the loving arms of a foster or forever family. Please be his angel. Please be the one who gives him that chance. He deserves it, he needs it, it's his time to shine. PLEASE give that to him! HW ... (Read More)Negative. CONTACT: AND for Diddy! $225 SPONSORSHIP from private donors to the rescue that saves Diddy! DIDDY has been passed over week after week, month after month. He was given reprieve because others found rescue, but he is losing more hope each day that he will ever find his 'happily ever after'. Diddy is the sweetest boy you will ever know when it comes to people. He is obedient, loving & sweet. The shelter volunteers even had him neutered and also fully treated for heartworm disease in hopes it would help his chances of being rescued. Still..... Diddy sits waiting for the day someone will believe in him and give him a chance at a happy life. That hope is fading for not only Diddy, but for the volunteers who have fought so hard to find placement for him. He is so deserving of that chance. All he needs is a CHANCE. Surely someone out there is willing to believe in him? DIDDY is a Carolina Dog with a brilliant red coat. He is 2 yrs old & weighs 50 lbs. He has been neutered & immiticide treated for HW. He loves to go for walks and adores people. His only vice is that he insists on being the center of attention and must be the only pet in the home. Other than that, he is perfect in every way. We cannot understand why he has been passed over for so long. It breaks our hearts to see him hang his head in despair, as other dogs walk by week after week, leaving on transport to start their new lives. We can see it in his eyes, he wonders 'why not me? why doesn't anyone want ME??'. VIDEO #1: VIDEO#2: (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-10-23-00628Blackie (male)

Flat-Coated Retriever Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Blackie was formerly living on a chain. Then my friends at Coalition to Unchain dogs built his caretaker a fence for Blackie and the other strays the man had taken in.. Shortly thereafter, the caretaker became ill and was no longer able to care for them. They found homes for some, others they placed with rescue groups. We were asked to take Blackie. Blackie needed socialization, as he was very scared. Blackie was found to be healthy, heartworm negative but he had double dewclaws that had become ingrown. That had to be painful but he never complained as we cut them and pulled out ingrown nails from his pads. We had the dewclaws surgically ... (Read More)removed so that will never happen again. He has gained confidence in his foster home and we feel he is ready to find his fur-ever home. He greets his foster Mom and Dad with a wagging tail. He still prefers to be outside (unless the weather is bad) playing with other dogs. He is learning to play with toys, something he never had. He loves treats and will gently take them from your hand. Blackie doesn't have a mean bone in his body. This beautiful dog is so sweet; he wants and deserves a loving home. Blackie weighs 48lbs now and is about 2 years old, on preventatives and up to date on vaccinations. He is housebroken and trained to a PetSafe fence. We would like to find Blackie a home with older children, another dog (or two) to play with, and a fenced yard.
